Kitty and the Beast is an episode of the television series Hello Kitty's Furry Tale Theater that is based on the story of Beauty and the Beast.
Story[]
Abracadabra! Witch Fangora has turned Prince Sam into a ghastly beast! Now it looks like he'll never be happy again… until he begins a furry-tale romance with the sweet and lovable Hello Kitty.
Plot[]
Before the show, Fangora noticed that Chip had "ruined" her wand prop by dipping it in a bucket of green paint. Hello Kitty walks by admiring the color of Fangora's wand, puzzling the latter, as Kitty calls out for everyone to get into their places for it's curtain time.
The story begins in the middle of the forest where a wicked witch, accompanied by a troll, was trying to convince a handsome prince to marry him, whilst constantly threatening him, but he just doesn't love her no matter how many chances she gives him. The witch finally had enough and is about to turn him into a beast no one would love, as the prince tries to remain serious through this. The witch magically turns him into a hairy, hideous, horrifying beast, much to his horror that he will stay like this for a thousand years or forever. The witch tells him that the only way the spell can be broken is if a fair maiden loves him, but who will ever want to love such a creature like him?
Meanwhile at a far-off house, Catrina was laying on the couch filing her claws as Hello Beauty was cleaning the house to which Catrina finds it a "dump". Then their father Chip comes in with good news; he won the royal lottery and now they're rich. Catrina is pleased of his accomplishment as she demands for various things, while Beauty asks for a beautiful red rose, as Chip lists them all down in a note. Chip prepares to head off to put the money in the bank, buy the presents, and then be back in a jiffy. Beauty tells him to be careful and Catrina tells him not to forget about the things she asked for, as Chip sets off.
Later, a storm rolls in and Chip rushes to find a place he can use to get out of it until he sees a castle that he could likely use. He sees the drawbridge is up and asks whoever's in there if he can come in. A voice inside asks him for the password, as Chip tries to guess what it is before giving up and saying "goodbye" which turns out to be the password to lower the drawbridge as he heads inside.
Inside the relatively gorgeous looking castle, Chip tries to look for anyone inside until he sees a rose Hello Beauty wanted in some shrubbery. He tries to grab the rose as it unknowingly moves around until he pulls it out, and to his surprise the beast shows up from the shrubbery, scolding him for stealing roses from his garden. Chip begs until he tells him the he needs to warn his daughters about this, and so the beast accepts but warns him that if he doesn't come back, he'll come after him.
Back at the house, Beauty claims the situation of being her fault for getting her father in trouble, and decides to keep the beast company in his castle. Chip tries to stop her, but Catrina is pleased to hear about a castle since she belongs in one and decides to go too, but Chip warns them about that horrible beast.
Beauty and Catrina ride to the castle in a bicycle as the former uses the password "goodbye" to lower the drawbridge. Inside, Catrina feels admired by the castle as Beauty tries to look for the beast. The beast then arrives as a frightened Catrina jumps to the ceiling. He welcomes Beauty to the castle, as she nervously tells him that she and Catrina came instead of Chip. He tells her not to be frightened for he wouldn't hurt her as he offers her his specialty, chocolate chip sardine cookies, to which Beauty finds them delicious. Catrina, who was losing grip, tries to get Beauty to scurry away and get help, but Beauty tells him not to mind her because they came here to keep their father's promise. The beast is glad they came here since he's been kind of lonesome for a long time. Beauty asks if he's been living in this castle by himself, to which he answers with a yes, and tells her that a wicked witch put a spell on him. Catnip suddenly loses her grip and falls on top of a cake, splattering onto the beast's mane. Beauty senses his upsetness and goes to comb the frosting off his mane, as the beast thanks her for her kindness. Then, the troll from earlier, who is disguised as a postman arrives with a telegram for Beauty, as he reads it in a musical way:
- "I've come here today to say,
you must go home right away.
Your papa is quite sad,
he misses you so bad.
This isn't just a trick,
the guy is really… sick."
Beauty is worried that her father might be sick, so she tells the beast that he must let them go home to their father and promise that they'll come back. Catrina sarcastically agrees as she crosses her fingers in expectation that she shouldn't have to come back here.
Back at the house, Chip was by himself missing his daughters until they come back with a worried Beauty for thinking he's sick. Chip is puzzled because he's not even sick a single but, but he's at least glad that they're home.
The beast was outside the castle all by himself feeling like his heart breaking without Hello Beauty, as the witch says that he was to love her as much as he should've with herself. The beast knows that he's about to go sick as the witch would know that Beauty will never return to him at all.
Chip, Beauty and Catrina were eating at the table until Beauty realizes that she stayed too long and has to go back or he'll die heartbroken. Catrina thinks Beauty's going bonkers for going back to that ugly thing, but Beauty says that a promise is a promise and that even a beast needs a friend, hoping she isn't too late.
Beauty hurries to the castle on her bike and sees the troll blocking the way with the drawbridge up, as he demands her to go away. Beauty begs to him that the beast needs him, but the troll denies saying that she has nothing to say to get by him. Beauty does have a bit of something to say and that's "goodbye," as the drawbridge lowers on top of him, having a second thought that there is one thing she could say as she goes inside.
The beast was still outside his castle in severe sadness, wondering where Hello Beauty is.
Beauty next encounters the witch who was blocking the way inside the castle. Beauty demands her to let her through as she calls her a "meanie," as the witch says that she is a meanie because she's a witch of course. The troll runs toward Beauty about to lasso her as the witch prepares to turn her into a toad and use her as monster feed on the castle moat. Beauty blows makeup powder all around the witch as the troll runs into the powder cloud, leaving Beauty to escape and the two tangled up in rope.
Beauty soon finds the beast outside, saying she's sorry for being gone so long, but he says it doesn't matter since he'll be a beast forever, never to be loved by anyone. Beauty says that he may look a little different on the outside, but on the inside she knows how nice he really is. The witch and the troll arrive at their worst time possible and the perfect time for Hello Beauty as she kisses the beast and soon the once again handsome prince is freed from the curse, thanking Beauty dearly. The witch is in total dismay as the troll tries to calm her down because she still has him, to which she proves her point by what he said is what she was talking about. The prince asks Beauty if she would like to be her princess, as Hello Beauty accepts his honesty because she'd love to be his princess, and two ride off into the sunset as the story ends.
