Monkichi (おさるのもんきち, O saru no mon kichi) is a monkey character created by the Japanese Company Sanrio. Monkichi's full name is Osaru no Monkichi, which may mean "Monkey's Monkey" or "Curious Monkey" in Japanese.

Monkichi enjoys puns, has an upbeat disposition and is easy going. He also loves bananas and can eat 10 in one minute. His dream is to become a poet.

He lives on a small mountain in the Japanese countryside with his Papa the pun-master and his Mama who is a skilled cook.
